What to expect on our bike tours

We are based in a rual location at the northeastcoast and therefore know the island inside out - not just from an office desk. All our crew members are cyclists by themself and know what how it is like to be on a bike. We have tested lots of hotels, but only use those for our guests were we would stay in personally. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and fair prices. Just enquire for an obligation-free quote!
Our cycling tours are designed for cyclists of all ages who enjoy moderate sporting activities combined with sightseeing. The daily distances are planned to allow for some short walks to places of interest in explore this magical island. You will see well-known tourist attractions as well as little-known places.
However, if you prefer a more energetic ride, we can arrange this also. We use sealed roads only apart from one very short section and prefer narrow and winding country roads with little traffic through spectacular scenery.
On our Guided Group Tours almost everything is included, even all drinks during the day (no evening meals). The guide looks after your every need. You can use the support vehicle (see below) whenever you like.
Self Guided Tours are our speciality. We can customised the tour free of charge according to your individual requirements. In the place of a guide, you will be provided with a comprehensivean nad easy-to-follow, door to door and route-description.
We own a fleet of quality hybrid bicycles which are regularly serviced to a very high standard. We also operate our own support vehicle with a very special user-friendly custom-build trailer.

Accommodation

We have chosen a cross-section of accommodation styles that reflect what’s generally on offer in Tasmania. We prefer small, privately owned places, against big sterile hotels. Accommodation for the arrival day and for the last night at the endpoint is included in our packages.
Considering that guests have different comfort needs and available funds we offer the choice of up to 5 accommodation categories. Apart from the accommodation the trips are identical.

Executive category: Usually the best possible accommodation available in the given area.
Comfort category: Our most booked option with "feel good" places, many of them 4-stars.
Economy category: For guests who are satisfied with simple accommodation, like 3-star motels.
Budget categoryFor guests who insist on a room for themselfs but donīt mind to have it very basic. Usually shared facilities.
Hostel category: For backpackers and those who don't mind sharing a room with others occasionally. Always shared facilities.

Rental bicycle

Our rental bike - gents model. On request and for an extra charge we can supply fast hybrid bikes, which are maintained to a very high standard. Helmet (which is compulsory), lock and a detachable handlebar bag are also included. During our group tours we do regular checks. Guests on our self-guided trips also receive a good pump, lock, a repair kit (including a spare tube) and instructions.
If you prefer, you are most welcome to bring your own bike, although our insurance requires it has been checked professionally prior to the tour.

Our Minibus with our custom made trailer. On our Guided Group Tours we use our own support vehicle and custom build trailer. Its design enables very quick loading and unloading of any bike. Bus and trailer are usally close to the guests so if you donīt want to cycle anymore you can take a break and continue cycling later.

Value for money

Compared with other operators we are less expensive. Why? Because beeing a small company we have lessoverhead costs. Be assured: there are no catches or shortcuts or compromises of service.
We donīt spend money on a fancy website or expencive colour broschures, we will just give you better value for money, eg. better hotels for the same price.

NOTE: If you are planning to do a bike tour by yourself in Tasmania, there are some things worth bearing in mind: Certain areas are much more hilly, in reality, than it appears on maps; you can travel quite some distance without ever coming across shops; suitable accommodation is not a certainty in all places. A more enjoyable and hassle-free option is to let us to arrange a self-guided tour for you, where you can travel independently but without the organisational difficulties. Better still, you could enjoy the fun and ease of a guided group tour. Either way, our trips have proven to be a very successful way to see the 'Holiday Isle'.
