Hi Manfred,
Just wanted to let you know that I had an excellent ride to Evandale. The bike performed well and I made it up all of the climbs. Although the climb to Weldborough was somewhat challenging as it was cold and wet!
Thank you for booking the excellent accommodation throughout. The only problem that I had was at The Pub in the Paddock. They said that they thought my booking had been cancelled. You were not responsible for this but I thought you should know it.
I left the bike in the back shed at the last hotel, with the pump, tools and bike lock around the seat post.
Thank you again… Pauline E. , North-East tour with our hybrid bike

Hi Manfred
The bikes are great! They can really go around the world. We went to St Marys today and managed to pass Elephant Pass even though the road was closed. Having a great time!! Best, Stine K, bike rental only

Hi Manfred,
a short note to thank you for a very enjoyable cycle tour ! One day was wet but the others were great , no mechanical problems and we really enjoyed ourselves ! Many thanks best wishes
Chris and Hilary S., Eastcoast tour

Hi Manfred,
Just wanted to say a quick ‘thank you’ for all your excellent organization around our bike trip. We were very grateful to you for sorting the transition to 2 ebikes, else Grahams trip would have been a feat of endurance, rather than a pleasure. We forget we are both in our mid 60s! The bikes were of excellent quality , the batteries were very powerful, and our overnights were very good in all the places we stayed. Good choices! Best wishes for the future Manfred.
Kindet regards, and thanks again, Eileen and Graham M.

Hi Manfred,
Thanks for supporting our trip. The gear you provided was very reliable and we enjoyed our travels.
Best regards, Michelle H, bike rental only

Thanks Manfred for your coordination and help during our trip. We have enjoyed it all and will recommend you to others. Your excellent bikes are safely locked into the shed and we are healthy and unscratched.

Hi Manfred
Thank you for assisting us with our fabulous holiday. Your patience and professionalism were very reassuring.

Hey Manfred,
Wanna say it again: bikes were really good! Again, thanks for arranging our cycle trip. It was a pleasure!

Hi Manfred
Just a quick note to say that the returned deposit has safely arrived in my bank account, thank you very much. I’m sorry that we have had to cancel this trip (due to Covid). At all times you have been an outstanding trip organiser to deal with, and I’m sure the trip itself would have been outstanding too. Perhaps we will get to cycle in Tasmania sometime in the near future. Still in Level-4 lockdown here in Auckland, but at least the weather is improving as we approach Summer! Stay safe and well.
Chris S., New Zealand

Hi Manfred
Thanks for your help and enthusiasm and for organising our tour. We had fun! Thanks also for the advice on where to go after the tour. Good luck with future tours!

2020

Testimonial about our 23 day self guided personalised cycle tour of Tasmania. February 2020.
Manfred helped us design and enjoy a wonderful pre covid 23 day cycle tour around Tasmania. We are used to planning and organising our own cycle touring overseas. This was the first time we had hired bikes from someone else. They were good...
From a distance in UK we could not quite tell which roads were fully tarmacked and how to avoid main roads whilst doing about 50 miles a day on average. We also could not easily find accommodation all the way around the route near places to eat without help.
Manfred provided us with loads of initial information so we were able to make our choices, design an itinerary strongly influenced by his suggestions. He also sorted out all the accommodation which was varied and interesting and of good quality. The full route description document provided on day one was excellent and a treasure to look back on as talking with friends about our trip. Just one suggestion for variation; the Bicheno accommodation was a bit too far out of town for walking to for an evening meal. Although on the second night we managed to find some food at a resort nearer the accommodation and watched penguins waddle up from the shoreline.
We had not expected such interesting in scenery and ways of life in Tasmania. Once inland we encountered many Echidnas and Wallabies, birds and Tiger snakes! Really friendly helpful people everywhere.
The east coastal sandy scenery with fascinating peninsulas, the inland gorges and developing rainforests with isolated farming communities and good cheese, aboriginal history, a great disused railway line ride in the late afternoon with wildlife and dappled sunlight the mountain scenery of north west interior and through swathes of rainforest up to cradle mountain, the fascinating mining towns down to the west fjordal coast of Strahan and associated convict islands and finally on through stunning rock mining scenery near Queenstown and more rolling forest and rivers on the way back into Hobart on an off road route which was welcome.
The east coast main road was not as busy as some reviews would suggest. The first day out of Richmond was the busiest but not compared to UK A roads... We were there mid February to early march 2020. Perhaps the lack of SE Asian tourists (due to covid) contributed to quieter roads . The head winds were quite strong. The road out of Queenstown was a stunning ride, perhaps a highlight of the trip. We just pedalled slowly all the way up taking in stunning views and visited a fascinating Iron blow lookout just off the pass at the top. WE would recommend this particular lookout although there were many others along the way.
All off road activities and recommendations from Manfred were good and we sampled most of them..although not much ice cream as it was a bit cool with plenty of rain. Overall it was a wonderful memorable trip, thank you!

2019

We had a fabulous time. Loved Tasmania. The choices of accommodations were perfect and each host was marvelous. The couple in Bicheno went way out of their way, driving us into town and to Cole’s Bay to catch the Aqua Taxi. The route instructions were easily understood and the recommendations (both in terms of activities and dining) were excellent. Your planning was perfect, though I would have appreciated omitting the headwinds! In any case, many thanks.
Roger S. (USA), self-guided East coast bike tour

Hi Manfred,
I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for such a wonderful trip. We truly couldn't have asked for more. Everything went smoothly, after the small issue in Swansea. The accommodations were fantastic, and we really appreciated the choices of places you picked. For your future riders going from St. Helens to Scottsdale; I would highly recommend the rail to trail path. The people running the B&B's were all so friendly and accommodating. We liked the fact that most of the places you were able to walk to town/shopping/restaurants after biking. The only one that was out of town a bit was in Bicheno, but the views made up for that! The breakfast they cooked at Ocean Retreat was probably the best on the trip. Again, thank you for the trip of a lifetime! I can't tell you how appreciative we are with your attention to detail and thoughtfulness of the cyclebook. You made this a trip one that we'll remember for the rest of our lives. Cheers, Aaron & Krista F. (USA), Eastcoast by bike, Westcoast by car

Hello, Manfred.
I'm writing to let you know the adventure has exceeded expectations! Tasmania is a hidden, undiscovered jewel. Its people are marvelous, the route is beautiful, the accommodations and food have been stellar. I'm hiking Freycinet today then do the last ride to St. Helens tomorrow. I wish there were another week! Thanks, Manfred. I'll be in touch again before I leave. Mitch T. (USA), self-guided East coast bike tour in early April

Hi Manfred,
We are back on the mainland after a stunning tour of Tasmania! All went well and without a hitch. We loved all of the stays and the roads were absolutely beautiful to ride. I must say, the terrain was a bit more challenging than expected. Mostly due to the winds to St. Helens, as well as to Davenport. We took all of your route suggestions which made perfect sense. Thanks for all your help. Best always, Elyse B. (USA), self-guided East coast bike tour

Manfred,
The tour went very well, no deviations from plans. The weather was sunny and on the warm side, but no significant headwinds. Your arrangements and guidance were excellent. The bicycle was ideal for the trip, and you even had it adjusted for my build. Thanks for a well-arranged trip. John W, (Australia), Eastcoast tour

Manfred,
Thanks for your involvement in an enjoyable 8 days of cycling and sightseeing. Your local knowledge made a big difference, for the better, on what I had originally planned and the boat trip was a highlight. In short it was a wonderful trip. The F-group (Australia), supported Eastcoast tour

Hi Manfred,
the bikes and tour were wonderful. I was impressed by the bikes. I have toured quite a bit and found them to be very well equipped and perfectly maintained. Thanks again for the great service. Richard and Julie F. (USA), self-guided Eastcoast tour

Hi Manfred
A quick note to feedback about how much we enjoyed the bike ride last week. Thank you for selecting such nice places for us and for the really great bikes you provided. We had some unexpected and wonderful add-ons to the ride. Lester from the Frog place outside Bicheno lent us his car and minded our bikes so that we could go into the national park and also access the scenic flight. Our European friends were gobsmacked – as were we.
Thanks again

Hi Manfred,
A few words to tell you that I had a great time cycling on the roads of Tasmania. Thank you for your support, everything was perfect ! Best regards< br> Alain C (F), rapid Eastcoast tour

Hello Manfred,
Thanks for the great trip. It was a unforgettable trip. Nice route, many hills, but I like that. Nice scenery, nice accommodation and a good bike. Merry Christmas and a happy and a lot of cycling in the new Year.
Harold M. (NL), selfguided round-tour

Thank you for putting together a great cycle trip for me in Tasmania. I really got to see and experience Tasmania and the great folks who live there. Definitely want to return, perhaps to try the west coast. Especially enjoyed the great bed and breakfasts you arranged. Regards
Steve H (CAN), selfguided Eastcoast tour in reverse direction

The riding was outstanding and we very much enjoyed the riding and the East Coast of Tasmania. Thank you so much!
Renea, Lori, and Carmen (AUS), bike rental

Wow, thank you so very much for the road booklet!! We cannot thank you enough for how comprehensive it is! Your very honest opinion of the nearby restaurants is greatly appreciated. The complete bike adjustment guide, route description, elevation, and day trips are WONDERFUL. We can't believe how much detail and thoughtfulness you put into the route description. Many of our questions about breakfast & dinners and the hotels were all answered! I feel bad for asking so many questions in my previous emails. It has relieved virtually any & all the anxiety we had about the trip. All we have left to do is wait a couple more weeks. Have a great day, and thank you very much! Aaron & Krista F. (USA), after having received their roadbook

Hi Manfred,
Just a note to tell you that our cycling trip went very well in spite of the incredible heat wave at the end of January. The accommodation was excellent and the baggage transfers were smooth, and your notes helpful. Perhaps adding an extra day to the journey could be an option. Contrary to other reviews we have read about cycling Tassie’s roads, we found the drivers very respectful always passing with lots of room, and even waiting behind us when we were slow up hills or the road was unsafe to pass.
Great tour - Thanks again
What a beautiful place Tassie is !
Steve and Donna W. (CAN), selfguided Eastcoast tour

Hello Manfred,
I just wanted to provide my opinion on the tour. Overall I believe our feeling was positive and we enjoyed the experience and the people that we met. The people at the places where we stayed were all friendly and affable and we couldn't have wished for a more pleasant welcome. All the premises that provided breakfasts were well prepared and enjoyable which meant that we were well set up for a good start to the day. Mostly the premises were comfortable although in a couple of overnight stays the bedroom and bathroom were a bit cramped but not to the extent that it spoilt our stay.
The ride was quite a challenge as our previous tours had been a maximum of 5 days. I would say that in the vast majority of cases, drivers were considerate and gave us a clear gap when overtaking.
Thank you for your work in organising the ride and we are left with some great memories and the knowledge that we must be in reasonable shape to have completed the ride.
Best wishes from Brian and Stephen C., selfguided Eastcoast tour

2017

G'day Manfred,
We are home after a fantastic trip----many thanks to you! We did 99pc of your suggestions. As expected our accommodation was first class. Our hosts were all beautiful people. Pauline at Bronte Park was exceptional (I was even given a nice red for my 71st!). Joanne & John at New Norfolk were probably the most attentive & are on the verge of creating something pretty amazing. Their home cooked bread & other goodies came up to the standards we have experienced at Gill’s in Evandale. Gill is a very special person & we are distressed that she is facing health problems---as is Jeanette at Ormiston House in Strahan.
The car rental you recommended was fantastic. Loved the service, the car & the value.
Of course you did not arrange the weather, but it could not have been better---even down to a snow storm whilst we hiked around Lake Dove.
We wish you the best (with your new partner as well) & hope our paths may cross again. Thank you!
Frank Castle (AUS), selfguided car tour around the state

And we want to congratulate you on the excellent choice of accommodations you made for us on the trip. Very nice.

Dear Manfred,
My wife and I have never before done a week long cycling tour anywhere - we are new to this sport and area. We had an absolutely wonderful time on your guided tour up the east coast of Tasmania in Feb, 2017. The daily distances were perfect and the accommodations you selected for us were top quality. We feel we have seen a remarkable number of Tassy sites that are on a scale with many other top destinations we have been privileged to see around the world.
The new bikes/equipment you supplied were of exceptional quality and we enjoyed the speed and reliability of the bikes you provided. It is amazing we covered the distance (~400 kms) we did over such amazing scenery. Thanks very much for the experience you provided us. We will be sure to sign up with you on your Ireland tour as soon as we are able to.
Sincerely, Walt and Karen M., participants of a guided tour along the East coast

Thank you very much for the hire of the bike and the panniers. The bike is obviously very well maintained and the gears are perfect for the hills! All went well and I even had amazing weather for the whole trip.
Samantha A., bike rental only

G’day Manfred
A very big thank you for a most enjoyable time. We sincerely appreciate all the work you put into making it a success & the extra things you did for us. The last 2 nights were spent in the usual excellent accommodation!!! Thank you.
I think & hope we may have made some long term friends from our tour. I need not have worried as much as I did about fitting in with a group of strangers. Again, you did a great job----just wish we could have turned the clock back to when we were a lot fitter. Sincere thanks Manfred----we hope our paths cross again someday.
Frank & Ian, participants of a guided tour along the East coast

Hi Manfred,
Thank you very much for renting me the bike. The information is so well prepared and the bike is excellent! I have had an enjoyable ride.

Hi Manfred,
Thank you so much for the trip. It was an eye opener and I truly loved the experience. Thanks also for organising such a detailed plan. I feel like I didn't miss a thing - except for the the fact that I forgot to visit you while I was in St Helens; probably some other time. Thanks again for all your hard work, I enjoyed every minute of it. Cheers
Tarcio S, solo rider from Evandale to Hobart

Manfred,
A quick note to say thank you for organising a great tour for us. We have had a lot of fun apart from the strong wind coming back from Coles Bay to Bicheno and then St. Helens. The locations you booked for us were great especially the ones in Orford and Swansea. Tips were really good too. Thank you!
Francois & Sarah V., rapid East Coast tour on our "Runner" bikes

Hi Manfred,
Thanks for arranging for the delivery and hire of the bikes for our recent cycling trip south of Hobart. What a great service - we will highly recommend you to friends and colleagues. The bikes were really great and we had absolutely no trouble. We cycled hugging the coast roads from Hobart down the D'Entrecasteaux channel to Middleton and the end of the peninsula and then via Cygnet up the Huon river and valley, following th coast roads as best we could - even the last day which was uphill to Ferntree at Hobart most of the way from Huonville was easily achievable with the 21 gears! - anyway, it was a very beautiful trip and we had great cycling weather. I enclose some snaps for your files. Many thanks again for your excellent service!

Hi Manfred,
We really enjoyed our cycling tour, and thank you very much for organising everything in so much detail for us. Everything went very smoothly, the bicycles (and our legs)! worked fine, all the accommodation was excellent. We felt we got a really excellent introduction to Tasmania. So, thank you, and best wishes for a good season,
Mike and Rosemary

Thanks again Manfred for your great work in making our trip to Tasmania such a good experience. We all had such a wonderful time. It exceeded all expectations.
Colin F, customised supported tour from Hobart to Launceston in September for 12 road cyclists

I wanted to thank you for all your help. I've taken many bicycle tours all over the world, and you have been by far the best tour operator to work with when planning the trip. We are so looking forward to the trip!
Anthony S, selfguided Eastcoast tour

It was a challenging ride but I really enjoyed it! My accommodations were all very well chosen. Even though they were of budget standard, they were all well managed and clean and I received a very warm welcome. have already recommended your trips to my friends :) The only thing I missed was a bell on my bike. Especially when using the bike path to get out from Hobart. I am very happy with my week in Tasmania! Cheers!

Thank you for a very nice trip and for your great organisation.

Dear Manfred,
We want to thank you very much for having organized a truly unforgettable bike tour! We enjoyed the week very much. We didn’t encounter any major problems....... What was really remarkable was the friendliness and hospitality of our hosts along the tour. In short, we actually could have gone one or two days longer! Thanks again, and best regards

Hi Manfred,
We have thoroughly enjoyed our bIke holiday here in Tasmania. Thank you so much for all your attention to detail to ensure we had a wonderful trip.

Hi Manfred, I love TAS more than ever!!!! Thanks to you, the detailed description and fantastic arrangement. Really, I don't know what to say now to express my gratitude even I paid for this. Because I don't think I will be able to have such a special experience without you. I'll definitely recommend you to anyone I know. After so many days, I've got the impression that Tasmania is really a perfect place to do a cycling trip. The forests, marshes, plains, mountains, ocean, islands, creeks, lakes, lagoons, devils, wallabies, dolphins, penguins, wombats, swans and many animals and birds I can't even tell the name... In Bicheno you can see dolphins and penguins for free along the seashore!!! That's a highlight. I can't believe I really was among them, in the nature and breathe with them. Not to mention different historic sites and wine and food. I enjoyed EVERY of them!!!! I can't say it's life-changing but it's definitely a special time I'll never forget. And it gives me an opportunity to explore the beautiful island and recall my adventurous side. That's the most important thing. Have a good day!!!
Xiao Z, China, selfguided Eastcoast tour

Hello Manfred,
I have been replaying the many wonderful memories of Tassie and the cycling and friendships....especially as I slog home thru snow and ice. The balance you provided between independence and being shepherded was ideal for me. The fact that the weather was sunny and warm and most of the other riders were easy companions added pleasure. I am happy that I must routinely cycle over a hilly terrain - it kept the cycling fun even as the climbs became a bit more challenging. Thank you again, Manfred, for the excellent arrangements you made for me in advance of the trip, and the thoughtfulness and concern for our safety and comforts that you showed during the riding. And perhaps we will meet up again on the other side of the globe.
Drew N., guided Westcoast tour

Hi Manfred,
The west coast is certainly hillier than the east coast! The landscapes are really varied, which makes for interesting cycling. We were glad that we split day 2 as you suggested. We really enjoyed the cycling on the west coast. Thanks for your help putting together the route description and adapting it for us. We really loved the New Norfolk B&B. It may have been the nicest place we stayed, the owners were lovely, the house is pretty and we got tasty freshly baked bread for breakfast. The restaurant at the Derwent Bridge Wilderness hotel was great – a fridge in our room would have been good though (to keep drinks and provisions cool). Cheers
Courtney and Andrew, selfguided customised Westcoast tour

Manfred,
I am back home in the US. The experience riding my bicycle around Tasmania was a very beautiful and interesting one. The route you planned was very complete and the daily distances were very appropriate. The mix of lodgings combining hotels B&B was a very good one. For a cyclist riding by himself the backpacker hotels and hostels provided the opportunity to meet with other travelers and exchange experiences. The Hosts in Richmond, Orford, Pyengana and New Norfolk were very welcoming and contributed to an enjoyable experience. Pat in Orford was specially kind giving us a ride to and from Triabuna and also drove us to see the ocean views close to her place. Your suggestions for additional places to visit along the way were also helpful for te trip's enjoyment. I took many pictures during the bike ride and when I was back in Hobart I had a great sense of satisfaction of having completed the whole bike ride around Tasmania and was able to climb the very steep and fearsome climbs... I am back home with fond memories of my bike ride and I thank you for your assistance in planning the route and te trip... Best regards
Eli B, selfguided solo-roundtour

Hi,
Thank you I had the BEST time, really fantastic. I worked out I've pedalled about 1400-1500 miles in the 4 weeks, not bad, and only one day of awful rain, which was the day I slogged it up to cradle mountain , to get there and not be able to see anything. Thank you again, I really had a fantastic super time. Unfortunately, that was my first proper cycle tour, and now I have the cycle tour bug, it's addictive!!
After TAS I went to NZ, and have just picked my hire bike here and I must say, your service, equipment and bikes are MUCH better, I should never have left Tasmania !! Sylvia
Sylvia S., bike rental only

Dear Manfred
First of all I would like to thank you for putting it all together for me. It would have been impossible otherwise for me to have planned the whole route and the accommodation in such detail. Your extensive knowledge was invaluable. There were some great B&Bs to overnight in - and trough the day the route was filled with a diversity of scenery and challenges. It all culminated in a memorable few weeks. Already I look back with pleasure wishing I was back in Tasmania on the bike.
Geoff R, selfguided solo-roundtour

My wife and I had the most fun ever on our recent East Coast of Tasmania Bicycle tour with Green Island Tours. They provided plenty of good food (breakfast and Lunch), healthy spring water, snacks and support for us in the form of a lift in the tour bus if we were not feeling well, as well as excellent mechanical support for any bike related issues. Manfred from Green Island Tours seems to know everything about Tasmania and we received plenty of information about this truly beautiful state. We genuinely enjoyed the tour and wish you all the best - in business and in life.
Frank & Henryka from South Australia, guided East coast tour

Dear Manfred, dear Linda,
We feel so glad to have shared our cycling adventure in Tassie with you. You have provided us with excellent leadership and service, great company, delicious food, fine accommodation and lots of laughs. Thank you! Margot & Jim, guided East coast tour

Hi Manfred,
Everything was great with the bikes. There were no problems, no punctures, no issues at all. Thank you for the tour - we had a great time.
Nic D, selfguided East caoast tour

Hi Manfred,
Thanks for the help, bike and panniers, as they exceeded my expectations. The bike did 1,200km in 21 riding days, no punctures, plenty of headwinds and only one night camping in the bush (near Waratah). I am thankful for your attention to detail.

We are still glowing in the wonderful memories of our trip up the east coast and the great bikes we had too. I hope all is well with you on the island.Regards, Shake, UK

Hi Manfred,
Now that I'm back in the UK, this is a brief note to thank you once again for the wonderful, but all-too-short, bike tour: I have fallen completely in love with Tasmania and am plotting my return already - maybe as a way to celebrate my next 'big' birthday (i.e. ending in a 0), although I'm not sure I can wait that long. In contrast to rural Tasmania and the relatively open skies of Hobart, Sydney came across as large, brash and noisy, so I had a rather different great time. But I still preferred Tasmania. I wish you a successful season, and do hope that I will one day return to complete the East Coast tour - and add the West Coast to it as well. Liz, UK

Hi Manfred,
We left Tasmania yesterday after a dazzling last day in the Peninsula, and we want to thank you for the excellence of your organisation. Everything has been perfect, the places you took us to are just wonderful, we will sure come back one of these days to take in more of this splendour. We have been particularly impressed by the high quality of the accommodations. Everywhere we felt spoilt, except in Strahan where the hosts were strangely absent.Otherwise, all the other hosts and all the people we met in Tasmania were absolutely wonderful. So, be sure to send me your link so I can give my comments, and also whatever information you have about your Ireland tours. Michele, & Michael, New Caledonia

Hi Manfred,
On behalf of my team, I would like to thank you for all the help that you have given us during our stay in Tasmania. We really enjoyed the trip and all the beautiful scenery will stay in our memories forever. Without your help our trip would not have been a success! Take care and wishing you all the best! Yean, Singapore (customised guided Westcoast tour)

Hi Manfred,
Wanted to say thank-you and how much we enjoyed the bike trip, and the post bike trip in Tasmania. You picked a great route and wonderful accommodations. We just love the Cradle Vista and Jim and Jeannette. I would recommend to anyone.
Thanks, Liris and Luke, Canada

Hi Manfred,
A brief email to let you know the cycling is fantastic around St Helens.
- Had 2 lovely days exploring Binnalong Bay and then exploring the south part- St Helens point. Saw echidnas at St Helens.
- Loved the coffee shop at Binnalong Bay view is fantastic and was out of the wind.
- Enjoyed the ride to Bicheno and can recommend the Brewery as a stop. Great views people and tastings.
- I loved the coast so did not venture into the mountains and had ridden there previously.
- Accommodation at both places was good and enjoyed the view over the harbour.
- Bicycle was the right size and collection went well.
- Really enjoyed the Freycinet walking tours. Beautiful stretch of coastline and great sights.
All in all a great holiday. Thank you for organisation!

Hi Manfred,
We are almost back to reality after our wonderful tour of Tasmania and wish to thank you for organizing our tour up the east coast. We enjoyed the ride although New's Eve Day was far to hot to be comfortable. The accommodation you booked for us was great with very helpful hosts. The bikes were very good as well as the other equipment.
After the cycle trip we drove from Launceston to Hobart via Cradle Mtn., Strahan and Port Arthur and were very thankful that we didn't cycle the western route! We thought the mountains of New Zealand were big! I think we would have been in the support vehicle most of the time! Tasmania is certainly a hidden gem of the world. Lots to do and see. Hope we can go back for another look sometime.
Thank you again, Norma & Cliff, USA

Thanks Manfred for organising everything for us. We had a great trip.
Michael & Tracey, AU

Dear Manfred,
Thanks for all the extra things you did and trying so hard to help us enjoy our trip.
Ian and Raylene, AU

Hi Manfred,
thanks for your assistance in organising a suitable itinerary for us within our time frame. We mentioned that we would send through our thoughts about the cycle trip we did in October:
A highlight in our very enjoyable two weeks in Tasmania, was a five-day self-guided cycle ride down the East Coast organised through Green Island Cycle Tours. Our experience in planning and booking the ride was very positive with prompt responses received to our enquiries and considerable flexibility shown by Manfred to accommodate our requirements. The ride itself, which covered some 300kms, was well organised with: good bikes, thorough route notes, comfortable accommodation, and a carry forward service for our luggage. We would highly commend this part of Tasmania for an enjoyable cycle tour and would have no hesitation in booking through Green Island Cycle Tours if we were to do something similar again.
Allison and Bruce M, New Zealand

Thanks for the wonderful time you gifted us with in Tasmania. We can't stop talking about how much fun we had. We loved the sites as well as the cycling. We look forward to the next trip. Your travel guide is great; much more informative and detailed than any other cycling trip information that we have ever received before. Donna & Robb, USA

We are safely home, but thinking fondly of our cycling adventure in Tasmania. We really enjoyed the trip very much, and were very pleased with the information and support you provided. The rental bike worked out well for Rose, too. Thanks again for the excellent tour. We will definitely recommend Tasmania, and your company, to other riders. Ilse & Bruce P, USA

"Hi Manfred,
Courtney and I want to thank you for organising our tour. We had a lot of fun riding around Tasmania and discovering how beautiful it is. We have never done anything like a cycling tour before so it was challenging at times but very rewarding. We're keen to do more cycling soon!
Once again, thank you so much for organising all our accommodation and the route and for providing us with maps, booklets, travel information AND our surprise bottle of wine."
Take care and we wish you success with Green Island Tours and a happy new year.

"Hello Manfred,
We are back to work after a great trip with you. Thanks to you, we will keep very good memories of Tasmania. The landscapes are beautiful, but the way you organised the tour gave us the best opportunities to discover those beauties. Of course, more enjoying participants would have been even better, but that is not your fault. The cycling was very good, even better on the last days. As I told you, we didn't like having to stop every 5km or at the top of the hills...
The crayfish on the picknic table remains a beautiful memory ! ! ! We confirm that tasmanian honey is absolutely delicious. We brought one bottle back to Tahiti, but we wish we would have brought more!! We are very happy and absolutely thinking of coming back for another tour.... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" Eva and Thierry, group tour

We really enjoyed our bike ride and everything went well. The bikes were in excellent condition which made riding a pleasure. The accommodation was very good and we found nice places for dinner in each town. Kind regards Judy K., selfguided east coast trip

earlier Comments (translated from German)

"Our Tasmanian cycle tour in January 2006 was a total success. The local support was excellent. We particularly enjoyed some things outside of the cycling. The tour guide was very flexible regarding weather conditions and fitness of the cyclists. The individual stages were well suited to cyclists with average fitness, they were easy to manage. All our impressions were overlaid by the unique fauna and flora. We recommended this cycle tour to everybody." Reiner M., group tour"

"Very many thanks for the terrific tour in Tasmania! Yes, we have travelled repeatedly with Green Island Tours, and are used to a good route-description, but this time you have proven that even perfect things can be improved!" Oliver und Sabine C., self-guided tour

"Thank you so much for the great organisation and execution of this very personal and pleasant journey. We experienced countless impressions of this outstanding part of Australia. We are happy and satisfied to have spent our entire annual leave on this one amazing trip. The "personal" style of the tour company was a particularly charming and special experience". Barbara S. & Rudolf T., group tour

2004

"For me it was quite a terrific journey. Everything came together to form a very interesting overall picture. The stages of each day were well selected and rich in variety. The tour guide was very competent and very flexible to the groups' needs. The accommodation was also carefully chosen, although each was very different in it's style. Altogether a journey to be recommended in a fascinating country". Hans A., group tour
