Day 1, Arrival
We pick you up from Launceston airport or your accommodation in Launceston at a time of your choice, followed by a transfer to St. Helens (4,500 inhabitants), the “capital of the east coast” (about 2 hours). This "Jewel of Tasmania's North-East" won "Tassie's Top Tourism Town" competition in 2020. The check-in is followed by a briefing session, adjustment and a test-drive of the rental bikes. If time allows a (bus) excursions to the famous nearby Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay can be made.
Day 2, St. Helens - Bicheno (B/L):
Today you cycle down the beautiful and mostly flat east coast, passing spectacular beaches along the way. Just before our destination Bicheno we visit the award-winning “Nature World Animal Park” , where you can at 3.30 pm watch the feeding of Tasmanian devils and maybe even pet one. Cycling: 60 km + Bus 17
Day 3, Bicheno - Swansea (B/L)
After an initial cycle we drive you to the friendly beaches lookout and continue to the renowned Freycinet National Park , where we walk to the famous Wineglass Bay Lookout (the beach is rated as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world). After lunch we have to go around the Moulting Lagoon. Several wineries are en route and can be visited. Cycling: 51 km (32 m), + Bus 57 km (36 m)
Day 4, Swansea - Hobart (B/L)
The ride on this coast road is an absolute pleasure. After about 30 km the road turns away from the coast. In Orford we are having our lunch at the lovely Spring beach, where you can have a walk afterwards. Than we pack up for a 1.5 hours long bus transfer to Tasmania´s capital Hobart via Hobart airport, where we arrive around 4 pm. Accommodation in Hobart is NOT included but we will drive you to a hotel of your choice and can even do the reservations for you. Cycling: 42 km + Bus 96 km
Distance: about 150 km per bike (depending on your fitness level) / 460 km in total
Notes:
All distances are approximate and may vary. The cycling distances depend on your personal level of fitness, weather conditions, chosen options on that day, and other variables.
